Things just don't seem to be getting better. Perhaps some good news is that Sherpas and other Nepali interests in the Sol Khumbu area of Everest decided to not go back to work in the Khumbu Icefall of Everest - which means that the climbing season on the tourist route is over, and efforts can be directed towards rebuilding the area. The Chinese made the same decision in Chinese-occupied Tibet, ending the climbing season on the north side of Everest (Chomolungma in Tibetan). A small ray of hope ...
